About this site

Housing Affordability Atlas helps people explore, at a glance, where housing may still be within reach across the United States.

It is part of the Atlas family of public-data housing tools, alongside Home Payment Atlas.

What it is

It is an interactive map, rankings, and place-discovery tool built in a public-data style. It is intentionally not a brokerage or a listings site — there are no agents, no listings, and nothing for sale here. The goal is orientation: pick an income and a scenario, and see how affordability varies across the country.

How it relates to Home Payment Atlas

This site handles the map and the big-picture comparison. Its companion, Home Payment Atlas, handles the detailed payment math — mortgage calculators, payment scenarios, and state-level assumptions. When you find a place worth a closer look here, you continue to Home Payment Atlas to make the numbers your own.
